Ephemera Redesigns
Ephemera refers to items that are meant to be temporary, often produced for a specific purpose and intended to be discarded after use. These can include things like tickets, posters, postcards, or pamphlets—artifacts that capture a moment in time. Despite their transient nature, ephemera often hold cultural and historical significance, offering a window into the aesthetics, values, and everyday life of the past.
The redesign of these playing cards was an exploration of blending modern design with historical and avant-garde art movements. Inspired by Dadaism's bold experimentation, Bauhaus’s functional yet artistic approach, and the clean precision of Swiss design, I aimed to create a deck that both pays homage to the rich tradition of playing cards and reimagines them through a contemporary lens.
